Answering an anonymous Ask that includes spoilers, so I’ve put the question and answer under a break.
Q: How do you feel about Petyr Baelish? I’m reading the series (just started aDwD) and I can’t quite figure out his character. I love how intelligent and quick he is, but some of the stuff he has done! AND I can’t figure out what he is trying to achieve… is it truly the Iron Throne?
A: I wouldn’t put it past him. No ambition is too great for him, he wants to control everything. I enjoy him as a character, he’s pretty brilliant and creative. I think he may be more unhinged than he displays outwardly, because obsessing over Cat like that, marrying and killing Lysa (yeah, he had to save Sansa from her aunt but the things he said before he pushed Lysa were amazingly cruel) and fixating on Cat’s daughter are pretty unhealthy. He may crack before he achieves his goal, which would be interesting and unexpected. Events very late in ADwD should add some chaos in the mix that could challenge his control over the situation. But I think he wants to rule it all, through Sansa.
