If you want to know, this is why I am so mean so often.
I’ve been in this fandom long enough to see the shit people say before they knew they were being watched.
It’s not always about being watched. God knows I’ve said shit in the past that makes me cringe now to think on it. Things that were dumb or ill-informed or coming from a place of privilege, that now I wonder wtf I was thinking and am rather embarrassed about. The best part about fandom is sharing ideas and finding new ways to re-see and reinterpret characters and stories, instead of relying on stale ideas from our own narrow experiences. Our collective eye is stronger and more aware.
