Like you said, full representation is important. It could also alter what we know of a character in general if we know more about someone’s specific situation, as in the Blackfish’s case. Is he just that stubborn about doing what his brother wants, or was he trying to do the right thing, avoiding deception, to not marry a woman whom he could never feel anything sexual for? And of course, having a badass knight like the Blackfish be queer would just be a cool thing, in terms of representation.
