For the first time that I can think of, on any “legitimate” show I’ve ever watched, cable or otherwise, no matter how extreme — for the first time, there was a shot of a girl in a mainstream television show with cum on her face. My fucking little sisters watch this show. Fans of fantasy watch this show. Teenagers all over the world are watching this show because it has magic and battles and politics and giant wolves and zombies and dragons. Nowhere in the books does a girl get cum on her face. Fuck you, HBO. God, I feel a little ill just thinking about this… I don’t want my sisters exposed to that shit accidentally just because they want to watch one of the most popular shows on television. If they seek it out on their own because they’re curious about that stuff, fucking fine. If they want to watch pornography and find out, so be it. We are all sexual beings.
But fuck this. On a mainstream fucking television show? That’s not art. There is no legitimate reason for this. What the fuck?
Why the fuck are your “little sisters” watching a show overflowing with carnage? Where was your rage when they chopped off Will’s head onscreen in the first fifteen minutes of the first episode?
Sexuality (and yes, a drop of fake seminal fluid too) is natural, nothing to be freaked out over. Why do you think violence is more “legitimate” than sex?
Meanwhile apparently children or young teens are watching this program with you where men are beheaded visibly, animals are slaughtered and oh, children die onscreen, S1 and in the first episode of S2.
This is a program rated for adults for a reason.
