Richard Madden - the new head of the Stark family Season 3 Premiere

Sophie Turner and Richard Madden speaking with SciFiNow magazine:

“It depends on how fast George can write,” says Madden of how long the show can run for. “It depends on where David and Dan want to take it, because the further it goes on the more storylines change.

“I don’t know where the limit is, I mean George has been doing it for years and still hasn’t got to the end. I don’t think we’ll all be in our 80s still doing Game Of Thrones, but hopefully it’s got a really life in it because there some many places for it to go, and characters, and we’ve only just touched the surface. We’ve got so many new characters coming in every new series that are just as fascinating as the people we met at the start of Season 1, so it really does have a life.”

“It seems like it could go on forever because there’s so many characters,” adds Sophie Turner. “There’s about 200 characters I think, small and big. I think it could go on as long as it needs to go on, I hope that as seasons get commissioned then people still watch it, because the story has so much potential and we just need the viewers to keep watching and keep supporting, and that’s how you’re going to get to the end of the story.”

“It’s definitely not a show that drags things out,” adds Madden. “We don’t dilute and put off two episodes what we could do now, it really lives on that pace. Season 2 is very much like that and Season 3 continues like that, so it’s definitely not a case of dragging it out. It’s about what story’s there and what people want to see.”

"Robb is one of the few Starks that isn’t a POV character in the books, which gave me a lot of freedom in building the character."
