zombee asked: "I think I read somewhere they kind of combined the Greatjon and the Blackfish... my question is: why? Why do all warriors have to be Northern-stoic? What does it add to the show? Sigh."

I saw that comment about him taking on some aspect of the Greatjon and I don’t understand the purpose of it. I like the Greatjon but we saw him in season 1. We don’t have to have his gruffness in the Riverrun scenes. I don’t get it.

xabiyoko asked: "I just read your tags on the Blackfish and I'm fucking happy that I'm not the only one that thinks he's not too Blackfishy. Why would he say that to Edmure, specially concerning wedding, when he himself didn't want to marry and fucking went away from home because of it..."

It’s one of the Blackfish’s notable character-defining aspects, his refusal to marry for unspecified reasons. And suddenly he’s threatening Edmure over his refusal to marry. Whhha? He’s still a BAMF warrior, I guess, but he doesn’t have the same principles and we haven’t seen much of his humor and personality. It’s a little disappointing.

Anonymous asked: "What is, "WotNK" As in "Barristan" Having a WotNK reunion some time" to Blackfish"

War of the Ninepenny Kings. Both Barristan and Blackfish were involved in it as knights fighting for Westeros, when they were younger men.

Anonymous asked: "I don't know why people put so much interest in the character's sexuality, like if it was something trivial. I'm aware that full representation is important but I think if a character is straight,bi or gay doesn't change anything. Like Blackfish, does it really matter if what he prefers? Is really that important?"

Like you said, full representation is important. It could also alter what we know of a character in general if we know more about someone’s specific situation, as in the Blackfish’s case. Is he just that stubborn about doing what his brother wants, or was he trying to do the right thing, avoiding deception, to not marry a woman whom he could never feel anything sexual for? And of course, having a badass knight like the Blackfish be queer would just be a cool thing, in terms of representation.

The Blackfish has a lot of defining character traits, but the most often discussed is his perpetual bachelorhood. He could be gay, he could be asexual, he could be a wencher, he could have loved Minisa… So many options.

Let’s examine the evidence.

Did we know that the Blackfish is going to be in Thor 2? This announcement was on his agency’s news page. I love fandom overlapping.
